The window or door is lifted into place and wedged after adjustment.
When installing windows with fixed sashes, for example pivot windows, the window unit is held in place during installation with Z-shaped irons which, at the upper edge of the window, are threaded out through the joint between frame and wall.
The frame is then attached to the wall in the prescribed manner with the intended fasteners, normally 2-3 per side.
The fasteners are placed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Screws and nails are used together with wedges, frame screws without wedges.
After assembly, the joint between frame and wall is sealed in the prescribed manner. The sealing must not take place so that the frame is deformed.
Any stealth cladding is installed and the joint between the frame and the wall is covered on the inside with lining strip.
Externally, the joint is covered with lining boards, moldings or joint compound.
